Stålmannen minns en dag när han besökte en planet med befolkning som lever på stenåldersvis. En grupp slavjagande, rymdfarande, befjädrade kvinnor från planeten Vrandar, upptäcker Stålmannen på planeten. Stålmannen och krigarkvinnan Althera blir kära i varandra, men de skiljs åt de upptäcker att de inte kan få barn tillsammans.
