Runaway Fancy Free is taken in by a rough cowboy, Footloose Fairweather. Later, Fancy's guardians, her late mother's friends, find that Fancy's father has died in the goldfields and has left her a large sum. Fancy's guardians hire a private investigator to track her down and bring her back.
