Carol was alone in a deserted guest-house miles from anywhere on a storm-wept Cornish moor, trying to forget a broken heart and her ruined ballet career. The radio reported news of an escaped convict in the district and when she heard sounds downstairs, she knocks the intruder unconscious with a vase. When he wakes, he gives her a story that is obviously a lie and she intends to hand him over to the police, but changes her mind. In the following days, she falls for him and tells him she know who she is. But the surprise is on her when it turns out he is a famous singing star.
