Despite the fact that she doesn't want to marry him, Neil gets Kim a better-paying job as the secretary for the owner of an exclusive jeweller's. There Kim meets the owner's nephew and soon falls in love with him. Neil suggests David only wants to marry her to make his uncle happy. When a newly-hired au pair girl seems to be a lost relative of his uncle, the will is changed and Kim worries that David may be showing an interest in Maria. The uncle dies under mysterious circumstances and Kim learns too late that Maria is not who she claims to be.
