Star Love Stories #325
In "Dream Chaser," a 1969 D.C. Thomson romance story, aspiring starlet Tina is smitten the moment she sees film star Nick Marlowe on screen—so much so that she vows to marry him. After winning a beauty contest, she journeys from England to Hollywood, landing a job as a secretary for a reclusive agent who hatches a publicity stunt: transforming her into a South Seas princess with dyed hair and dark makeup. The story unfolds as Tina meets Nick, not as herself, but as the mysterious persona she's been cast as—blending dreams, disguise, and the uncertain path of fame. Art by Blas Gallego brings the glamorous, dreamlike world to life, capturing the era's romantic flair.

When Tina sees film star Nick Marlowe on the screen for the first time, she announces to her friend that she is going to marry him. After winning a beauty contest, she has enough money to fly from England to Hollywood. With no way to contact the reclusive film star, she takes a job as a secretary for an agent. The agent comes up with an idea for a publicity stunt, having Tina dye her hair and use dark makeup to pose as a South Seas princess. Then she meets Nick, not as herself, but as the South Seas princess.
