Karen's job as a reporter for a pop magazine opens her eyes to what pop stars are really like. When she is denied an interview she was requested to do, she lets Jed know what she thinks about him. It gets her fired, but Jed follows up with her and soon they start dating. When the lead female singer for his group doesn't show up one night, Karen goes on in her place and becomes a big hit. Soon she is acting the way she resented all the other pop stars for acting.
