“A Girl Must Choose”

In "A Girl Must Choose," Jenny finds herself torn between two very different men—Steve, the steady presence in her life, and Don, a passionate new love whose ambition pulls him toward a distant future. As Don’s career takes off and he offers Jenny a chance at marriage, she must decide whether to follow him or stay true to herself. Norman Lee’s heartfelt artwork brings emotional depth to this tender 1971 romance, while Fernando Carcupino’s cover captures the quiet tension of a choice that could change everything.

Jenny had been seeing Steve regularly until Don shows up to do a story on her for a series he is working on for 'The Echo'. After seeing Don a couple of times, Jenny knows she loves him in a way she never felt about Steve. She chooses Don and tells Steve, but then Don's career gives them little opportunity to see each other. Don gets a job offer from a bigger paper in another city and wants Jenny to marry him. But Jenny doesn't want to be second fiddle to his job so she says she can't.
