As winner of the "Miss Perfect Secretary" contest, her boss sends her along with his son to the trade fair in New York, partly to keep an eye on his son and partly for the publicity she would bring. Aboard ship, she manages to foil the romantic entanglement that his father had not approved of, but at the cost of her own budding romance with a man she met on the ship. In New York, the publicity due to her title results in a couple of thugs kidnapping her.
