Helen's car breaks down outside the Blue Bird Café, hangout of the local motorbike gang. When she enters the café to ask to use a telephone. some of the youths seem menacing. But she is rescued by Pete who gives her a ride home on his motor-bike. She can't stop thinking about Pete and she eventually falls in love with him. But her father thinks he is a hooligan and is over-protective since Helen's older sister had previously eloped against his wishes.
