Bob is a server in a milk bar, but Dawn has great faith in his ability as a songwriter. When she learns that a big wheel in the music industry is staying in the town's only hotel, she dresses as a chambermaid and sings one of Bob's songs in the bathroom as she pretends to change the towels. Steve isn't interested in the song, but is interested in her voice. She goes to London and becomes a star, using her influence to get a job for Bob. When Bob finds out the truth about his job, he walks out on her but leaves a song he had written for her the night before.
