Maggie worships her older sister who is a fashion model working in London. While taking one of her morning walks along the coast, Maggie meets a struggling young painter. Peter spends an hour each morning working on a portrait of her. But when Sharon returns home to visit, Peter seems to forget all about Maggie and devotes himself to Sharon. Sharon is just using him and when Peter discovers the truth, he leaves town. Over a year later, Sharon's modeling career is struggling and Peter has become a success. Sharon now sees Peter as a good catch, but it is Maggie he is interested in.
