Lisa, reporter for an English newspaper, is assigned to find out about Fay Courney. Fay is engaged to a ruthless Texas oil tyoon, but seems to be spending most of her time with an English ski-instructor in the Swiss ski resort of Brengen. The assignment brings back bitter memories for Lisa who had a romance there with a married man when she was younger. Before she leaves for her assignment, she agrees to marry a partner in an engineering firm even though she admits she doesn't love him the way he loves her.
