Miranda lives with her aunt and uncle who believe life was for living as it was a couple of centuries ago - no T.V., radio or newspapers. Miranda decides to use some antiques left to her by her father to get enough money to escape, eventually discovering that they are very valuable. But she has difficulty adapting to the modern world after living a sheltered life so long.
