Following the attack on his home, Steel battles Hardwire while his family and Hazard's crew watch on television. Hardwire and the government agents Fred and Hank all die in the carnage. Steel is arrested for causing the near-destruction of the Washington Monument during the fight, and reveals his identity as John Henry Irons to reporter Jane Wallace (and the world).
