The finale of this eight-issue DC miniseries arrives with a cover question that's hard to ignore: "The Winner Is… Synnar?" — and the looming, glowing-eyed cosmic entity dominating the starfield background makes the threat feel very real. Superman, Comet, a red-suited energy-blaster, a jetpack-equipped armored figure, a masked figure in red, and a blue-and-black-costumed woman are all scattered across the cover, suggesting a hero roster under serious cosmic pressure. Jim Starlin's cover pencils, inked by Rob Hunter, give the whole scene a sweeping, space-opera grandeur that's a fitting sendoff to the series.
