The issue features two stories. "The Long Chase" depicts an underwater battle where Allied forces pursue a German U-boat that has infiltrated the Gulf of Mexico, threatening oil tankers vital to the war effort. "Louisiana U-Boat Base" follows the USS Garwhale as it coasts near a Soviet unit to gather intelligence, discovering a German submarine base and engaging in combat that results in a torpedo explosion near a Soviet craft, with the American skipper hoping the vessel and its crew survived the blast.
