Submarine Attack #48

In "Duel at 40 Fathoms," two rival submarines—the American DE-91 and the German U-235, commanded by old enemies Lieutenant Commander Robert Barlick and Kapitan Hans Von Bruhm—engage in a deadly underwater battle after their vessels encounter each other in the Atlantic. When German forces attempt to recover a secret instrument package and American paratroopers scramble to intercept it, the two submarines race to secure the prize, leading to a climactic confrontation filled with depth charges, collisions, and acts of sabotage beneath the sea. Von Bruhm's U-boat takes heavy damage and begins to sink, forcing both crews to fight for survival as the damaged submarine threatens to crush them under tremendous pressure.
