Superboy #6/1981
In "Luthors Racheplan," Lex Luthor hatches a dangerous new scheme against Superboy, only for his device to explode prematurely due to flawed materials. The resulting glowing smoke cloud doesn't destroy Superboy—but instead grants him a surprising new power: super-magnetism. With his plans thrown into chaos, Lex is furious, but far from done. Written by Cary Bates and illustrated by Kurt Schaffenberger, with inks by Dave Hunt and colors by Jerry Serpe, this 1981 issue features a cover by Schaffenberger and Hunt.
