“Im Bann des Goldenen Tempels!”

In "Im Bann des Goldenen Tempels!", Superman faces mysterious vines and an unseen observer from his past—someone he once inadvertently poisoned with biochemic cultures, now transformed. Meanwhile, the "Vergessenen Helden" converge on golden pyramids through separate paths, united by the Unsterblichen to turn against the Man of Steel. Written by Marv Wolfman and brought to life with dynamic art by Gil Kane—both inks and pencils, with coloring by Anthony Tollin—this 1984 issue features a cover also by Gil Kane, capturing the tension of a hero caught in a web of unintended consequences.
