Superman #2/1977
In "Das Geheimnis der Versklavung Supergirls," Steve Lombard attempts to write his memoirs, spurred by a request to honor his late coach with a foreword—something he initially refused. Flashbacks reveal a debt of gratitude: years ago, Lombard saved his trainer’s life, only to learn the man had promised to repay him in a way neither expected. With Curt Swan’s expressive art and Martin Pasko’s grounded storytelling, this 1977 issue offers a poignant, character-driven tale anchored in memory and obligation. Rich Buckler and Vince Colletta’s cover captures the weight of that unspoken promise.
