Superman verfolgt ein UFO, doch sie kommen in Frieden und sind schnell wieder ausser Reichweite. Sie hinterlassen einen Oldtimer und Lewis Padgett, den einstigen gefürchteten Verbrecher Mikrowellenmann. Er war seiner Zeit damals weit voraus und hatte seinen Körper in einen wandelnden Empfänger für rohe Engergie aller Funkstation verwandeln können. Er testet seine Kräfte und findet heraus, daß sie jetzt noch viel stärker sind als damals, da es heutzutage sehr viel mehr Radiowellen gibt.
