This issue contains three stories. "I Joined the WACS" follows a young woman's military romance with Private Aimsley, a soldier she dates while he is on weekend leave; when he is assigned overseas and she learns he intends to marry her for the wrong reasons, she must decide whether to follow her heart. "Shameless" depicts a cartoonist named Mack who struggles with his wife's lack of support for his artistic ambitions and their deteriorating relationship after he loses a cartooning job. "The Reluctant Heart" tells of Jerry, a man who discovers newfound confidence and purpose when he helps Nancy open a new retail store, leading to a budding romance between them.
