In "Atlantic City, New Jersey Three Months Later," Ed stumbles through a haze of exhaustion and mystery, still chasing the elusive end of a cursed trail. After collapsing in a bar and dreaming of being tagged, he awakens to a cryptic conversation with a stranger who claims to be Cain—someone who’s never been tagged himself, yet has helped others unravel the curse. Cain reveals that the curse has spread further than anyone thought, even touching children, and hands Ed a new name and address to follow. Written by Mike Leib and illustrated by Chee, with cover art by Leland Chee, this issue deepens the unsettling mystery with quiet dread and a haunting sense of inevitability.

Three months have passed and Ed still isn't at the end of the trail, then hits a dead end. He passes out in a bar, has some dreams that seem to be about being tagged, and wakes up to a stranger talking to him. The stranger appears to be Cain (he says he was never tagged but he has tagged someone) and he has been helping Ed figure out the trail. He tells Ed that many people have tried to end the curse (including himself) without success. Finally Cain mentions that even children are tagged and tag others. He then gives Ed the name and address of the latest person who has been tagged.
