“Valley of Missing Cowboys!”

In "Valley of Missing Cowboys!", Stan Lee and the dynamic art team of John Buscema and Pierce Rice deliver a pulse-pounding Western adventure where gold, betrayal, and desert storms collide. When the Calico Kid eliminates Barney to claim a buried treasure, Tex and Lobo race across the dunes in a desperate pursuit, only to be captured and locked in the wrecked ship's hold—where their fight for survival is just beginning. The cover by John Buscema captures the tension perfectly, a 10-cent thrill from 1949.

The Calico Kid kills Barney to get at gold left aboard an old Spanish ship which lies half-buried in the desert. Tex and Lobo pursue the Kid and fight him during a sandstorm. Although the Kid's men disarm the heroes and lock them in the ship's hold, they break free and use old cutlasses to kill the Kid and his gang.
