Uncovering suspicious doings, Tintin arranges to accompany Professor Alembic to Syldavia. There he learns of a plot to unseat the king by stealing the sceptre (scepter) required for a vital ceremony. Tintin warns the king and recovers the sceptre (scepter), after which he is honored by a grateful king and nation.
