The Amazing Spider-Man #82
In "And Then Came Electro!", Peter Parker takes a risky step toward public acceptance by appearing on a live TV talk show—only to find himself facing Max Dillon, a villain working behind the scenes at the network. With J. Jonah Jameson pulling strings and Electro unleashing his powers in front of a national audience, Spider-Man’s fight is as much about reputation as it is about survival. Written by Stan Lee and John Romita, with art by Romita, Mooney, and Severin, and a cover by Marie Severin and John Romita, this 1970 issue captures a tense, high-stakes clash that leaves both hero and foe battered—no clear winner, just the cost of the spotlight.

Peter decides that it would be good for his public image to go on a TV talk show. Unfortunately he chooses a network where Max Dillon [Electro] works. In collusion with Jameson, Electro attacks Spider-Man live on stage. Spider-Man defeats him, but it is a Pyrrhic victory; Peter is as beat up as Max.
