When Spider-Man goes after the Schemer, he’s drawn into a trap set by the Kingpin—only to discover the Schemer is Richard Fisk, the crime lord’s long-lost son. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by John Romita and John Buscema, with inks by Jim Mooney and letters by Sam Rosen, this 1970 issue features a cover by John Romita, whose dynamic pencils and inks capture the tension of a secret finally coming to light.

Peter pulls a double switch to keep Captain Stacy and Gwendy from identifying him as Spider-Man. Spider-Man tracks down the Schemer but they both fall into the Kingpin's trap. The ensuing battle comes to an abrupt end when the Schemer is revealed to be Richard Fisk, the Kingpin's long lost son.
