The Amazing Spider-Man Vol.1 No. 437 [Spider-Man Classics Action Figure Reprint] #437
In "I, Monster!", Plantman takes a personal vendetta against Generation X after their mockery, turning Synch into a grotesque monster and, in a twist of irony, transforming Spider-Man into a real man-spider. With writer Tom DeFalco and artist Rafael Kayanan bringing the chaos to life—inked by Bud LaRosa and colored by Bob Sharen—this 2000 reprint issue delivers a bizarre, body-horror twist on Spider-Man’s usual rogues’ gallery. The cover by Kayanan and LaRosa captures the moment of transformation in striking, unsettling detail.

Plantman decides to go after members of Generation X for making fun of his costume and powers the last time they met. He transforms Synch into a shambling monster and Spider-Man into an actual man-spider when the latter tries to intervene. Plantman discovers, however, that a man-sized spider is a little more trouble than he bargained for.
