The Black Dragon #4

Aug 1985 · Marvel · 1.50 USD; 1.75 CAD

In this pivotal 1985 issue of *The Black Dragon*, the wedding of Aelfric and Rowena turns into a massacre when the Darklings strike, leaving Griffon as the lone survivor. With Dunreith revealed as one of their number, and Edmund deValere making a desperate sacrifice to appease the Black Dragon, Gryphon must forge an uneasy alliance with Robin Hood and the Sidhe. As Dunreith briefly breaks free from Edmund’s control and pleads for death, Morgan Le Fey steps forward with a revelation that upends everything—she is his mother. Written by Chris Claremont and brought to life with bold, consistent art by John Bolton (pencils, inks, colors, and lettering), this issue delivers a haunting blend of myth and betrayal, all wrapped in Bolton’s striking cover.
