The Captain and the Kids #17
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe issue contains two main stories. The first features the Captain teaching a geography lesson about U.S. states while the kids study, though the content shown focuses on the Captain's antics with a map and globe. The second story, drawn by R. Dirks, depicts the Captain and the kids on an outdoor adventure where they encounter a horse named Nix; the horse causes chaos throughout their outing, including interactions with a toy car, splashing in water, and disrupting the Captain's attempts to regain control while the children react to the mayhem.
When the Captain sets out to deliver a handsome hat to the Princess Oo-La-La, his plans go comically awry—the hat gets destroyed, and a chain of mishaps ensues involving a stubborn mule, a mysterious note, and a dog with a mind of its own. As romantic misunderstandings and slapstick chaos pile up, the Captain finds himself caught between the Princess's expectations and the mayhem his own household keeps creating around him.
The Captain and the kids find themselves stranded on an island, desperately signaling for rescue with their S.O.S. flags—but their antics and mishaps keep getting in the way of their own salvation. When a ship finally appears on the horizon, chaos erupts as the boys' scheme to catch the crew's attention goes hilariously sideways. It's a rollicking adventure where good intentions collide spectacularly with slapstick disaster.
