Blake guides his prisoner, a Tong boss's son, to Tombstone, but falls asleep exhausted. Kioto is fatally injured escaping and Blake is emprisoned for the death. Two Tong members learn what has happened and resolve to kill Blake. A jury acquits Blake, but he resigns from the Pinkerton Agency to escape the violence. The sheriff warns that the Tong will not let that happen, having killed the son of Li-Chang. Emphaising the point, the Tong members attack unsuccessfully. Blake is unswayed from his decision.
