Indiana and Jock have a run-in with Japanese forces while taking pictures of the Aleutian Islands. Indiana is reunited with Katanga in Panama. Indiana, Katanga and the crew of the Bantu Wind find the Temple of Chung Hua but are soon confronted by pirates led by Emeralda Vasquez. After Rudolfo kils McWerty, Katanga is forced to obey Emeralda. Emeralda has Indiana buried up to his neck in sand and left to await the coming tide.
