The Great Treasury of Christmas Comic Book Stories #[nn]
"Elf in Jack-in-Box" is a delightfully whimsical holiday tale from Walt Kelly, who wrote, drew, and inked this charming entry in The Great Treasury of Christmas Comic Book Stories. When Twinkle the elf vanishes while delivering a message about a snowless winter, Fuzzychin and the Easter Bunny team up with the weatherman to fix a malfunctioning Season Machine—only to face a new challenge when the snow machine runs out of materials. With Santa’s elves arriving with a surprisingly sweet solution, the story unfolds with Kelly’s signature blend of humor and heart. The cover, by Irving Tripp, captures the festive spirit of the tale.

Fuzzychin and the Easter Bunny go to see Santa. They find that Twinkle the elf, the messenger Santa sent to the weatherman to find out why there is no snow, has not returned. The pair go to the weatherman's house and find that Twinkle and the weatherman are trying to repair the "Season Machine," which is stuck on "Summer." The season machine gets fixed but the next problem is that the snow machine is out of raw materials. Santa and the elves bring substitutes that produce snow made of ice cream.
