The Gumps #5

The issue contains two stories. In the first, a shot fired at a circus tent kills a man named Silk, and suspicion falls on Cooky, who had threatened to get him. After discovering a revolver with one slug discharged near Leona's tent, the police suspect Cooky of the murder, though he insists he didn't fire the shot and suggests someone else may have stolen the gun. In the second story, "The Gypsy Caravan," Golly and Cousin Juniper are followed through the woods by someone they fear is Chester, a dangerous criminal; Grandma Gumps refuses to call the police, and Juniper sneaks away to investigate what gang of roughnecks may be involved in the caravan robbery.
