This volume collects the first six issues of the 2023 The Human Target series, written by Tom King with art by Greg Smallwood. The story reimagines the classic DC character Christopher Chance, a private investigator who impersonates his clients to draw out threats, but here he finds himself poisoned and must solve his own murder before time runs out. Book One sets up a noir-infused mystery that blends action, introspection, and a ticking clock.
