The Human Torch & The Thing: Strange Tales - The Complete Collection #[nn]
In "The Human Torch," the classic duo of Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm find their usual antics interrupted by Life Magazine reporters covering Reed and Sue’s latest project. When word spreads that Namor is heading to New York, the pair leap at the chance to make a name for themselves—only to find the Sub-Mariner waiting, and the situation far more complicated than they expected. Written by Stan Lee and brought to life with dynamic art by Dick Ayers, Paul Reinman, and Stan Goldberg, this story captures the raw energy of the early Marvel era, with a cover by Jack Kirby and Sol Brodsky that perfectly encapsulates the clash of titans.

Ben and Johnny's hijinks are interrupted by the arrival of a pair of Life Magazine reporters, who are there to interview Reed and Sue. When the news reports Sub-Mariner is heading for New York City, Ben and Johnny figure they can make an impression by tackling him on their own. Taking out the U-Car, they find Namor, who seems to be expecting them. A fight breaks out, ending when Namor leaves, feeling he's been lied to. Reed and Sue arrive and chastise Ben and Johnny for ruining the peace talk Reed spent weeks to set up. A betrayed Namor vows that their next fight will be to the finish.
