The Incredible Hulk #316
In "Battleground," the Hulk lays waste to a New Mexico town while four of Marvel's mightiest heroes converge to stop him—only for Doc Samson to call off the assault, insisting he’ll bring the beast down alone. With She-Hulk at Bruce’s bedside, hoping an experimental treatment will awaken her cousin, the fragile hope of a cure hangs in the balance as the Hulk’s fury rages unchecked. Written and illustrated by John Byrne, with cover art by Byrne, this 1986 issue delivers a tense, character-driven clash of wills and a rare moment where the Hulk’s rampage is matched by the quiet determination of those trying to save the man beneath.
