“The Coming of the Inhumanoids! (part 4) Metlar Unleashed”

In "The Coming of the Inhumanoids! (part 4) Metlar Unleashed," the Earth Corps presses on through the underground tunnels, only to find the Granite city under siege by D'Compose and Tendril. As Granok leads his people in defense, the imprisoned Metlar—awakened by Tendril’s offshoots—is freed from his magnetic captivity by the Magnacore, unleashing the goblin-like Inhumanoid leader upon the battlefield. Just as Blackthorne Shore arrives in armor to subdue him, D'Compose captures Sandra and transforms her into an undead being. Written by Jim Salicrup and Flint Dille, with bold artwork by Carmine Infantino and Danny Bulanadi, and a striking cover by Infantino and Bulanadi, this 1987 Marvel issue delivers escalating tension and a pivotal moment in the Inhumanoid saga.

After they defeat the deathbats, the Earth Corps go deeper underground and find the city of the Granites under attack by D'Compose and Tendril. While Granok (leader of the Granites) and his men wage war against the monsters, Tendril's offshoots free the inhumanoid leader Metlar ( a huge goblin-like monster with a scaly metal chest) who has been held captive by the magnetic beings Magnacore (Crygen and Pyrus). Metlar and the other Inhumanoids attack the Earth Corps just as Blackthorne Shore shows up in armor and captures Metlar. D'Compose then grabs Sandra and turns her into an undead creature.
