The Clown Prince of Crime takes a harrowing tumble down the side of a gleaming skyscraper on this June 1976 cover, his wild green hair and manic grin frozen mid-plunge — while a gloating Lex Luthor cackles triumphantly atop the building far above. Speech bubbles proclaim that Luthor has stolen the Joker's madness and sense of humor, setting up a deliciously absurd rivalry between two of DC's most dangerous criminal minds. Ernie Chan's cover art captures the vertiginous chaos perfectly, and with Elliot S! Maggin writing and Irv Novick illustrating the interior, this is a genuinely entertaining chapter in the Clown Prince's short-lived solo series.
