The Last Dragon #[nn]
In "The Last Dragon," writer Jane Yolen and artist Rebecca Guay deliver a tender, mythic tale of courage and unlikely partnership. When a dragon threatens their village, the townsfolk turn to the boastful Lancot, only to find their true strength in the quiet resolve of Tansy and a clever plan involving a dragon kite and ancient herbs. With lush, evocative art by Guay and a story that lingers like a folk tale, this 2011 Dark Horse gem captures the quiet magic of community and the unexpected heroes within.

When a dragon besets their village, the villagers seek out a hero, and get the self-important (but unheroic) strong man Lancot. Tansy and Lancot work together, guiding the villagers to create a huge dragon kite, which they use to lure the dragon so that they can attack it with dragon's bane herbs. After narrowly winning the day the two of them marry, and the village annually celebrates the victory.
