Book One of this series presents Jesus's early ministry from his birth through the calling of the twelve apostles. The narrative follows John the Baptist preaching repentance and acknowledging Jesus as one mightier than himself, then depicts Jesus encountering the Samaritan woman at the well, healing a leper who spreads word of his power, and drawing crowds of believers. The account concludes with Jesus healing a paralytic in Capernaum while Pharisees and doctors of the law observe and scrutinize his actions.
