The fourth and final issue of Tyler Crook's The Lonesome Hunters closes out this Dark Horse series with a cover that radiates dread — a dark-haired figure looms at left while a weathered, wide-eyed man is pinned beneath an enormous supernatural sword adorned with a grotesque carved face and feathered, taloned detail. Crook's painterly earth tones and that stark yellow backdrop give the image an unsettling, almost folkloric tension that perfectly suits the series' moody blend of the strange and the human.
