The Mask Returns #4

The four-issue Mask Returns miniseries wraps up with a cover that demands your attention — Doug Mahnke fills the entire frame with the Mask's grotesque, grinning green face, one enormous bloodshot eye bulging outward while blood streaks across that impossibly wide mouthful of teeth. It's visceral, unsettling, and delivered with the kind of raw energy that made Dark Horse's take on this character so distinctly its own in 1993. John Arcudi and Mahnke close out their collaboration here, and that bonus "Walter" mask tucked inside makes this finale feel like a proper event.
