This standalone graphic novel by Keum Suk Gendry-Kim adapts Park Wan-suh's classic Korean novel of the same name, set during the Korean War. It follows a young woman working at a U.S. military PX who becomes entangled in a complex relationship with an American soldier, exploring themes of love, survival, and the scars of war. Gendry-Kim's expressive black-and-white artwork brings a poignant, intimate lens to this historical narrative, marking her first adaptation of another author's work.
