The New Titans collide in spectacular fashion on this September 1989 cover, where a massive armored figure dominates the foreground as teammates scatter and clash around it — Starfire blazing with energy in the upper left, a curly-haired young hero diving through the air, and other Titans caught mid-struggle across an industrial backdrop. Tom Grummett's pencils, finished by George Pérez's inks, give the scene a wonderfully kinetic energy that captures a team pushed to its limits. With Marv Wolfman and Pérez steering the ship on "Controls," this is the late-'80s Titans at full throttle.
