The Punisher #3

The cover by Bryan Hitch and Paul Neary delivers an immediate gut-punch of vertigo: Frank Castle — skull emblem front and center — plummets inverted above a sweeping cityscape while a wild-eyed figure in a tattered red coat looms over him, trailing ribbons of what appear to be blood-red tendrils. Greg Rucka, Marco Checchetto, and Matt Hollingsworth bring their collaborative vision to this third chapter, and the freefall composition alone signals that Castle is in seriously dangerous company. A tense, visually arresting entry in this 2011 run.
