Professor Gilford, a recognized authority on archaeology, sits reading the newspaper when he learns the Nazis have come into possession of the Hapsburg Jewels. He quickly decides that in his guise as master thief the Scorpion he must steal them for himself. Inspector Harrold of Scotland Yard has come to suspect that Gilford may be the Scorpion, but as of yet has no proof. The inspector pursues Gilford to Germany, where the Scorpion disguises himself as Nazi "General Von Ludendoff" and proceeds with his plan.
