The Sisterhood of Steel #1
In *The Sisterhood of Steel* #1 (1984), Ataluma’s brutal capture by pirates sets the stage for a fierce transformation—tricking her captor D'lak into killing Thibbeus, she unites a band of women to forge the Sisterhood, claiming Ildana as their own. Years later, the legacy of that rebellion echoes as Boronwe struggles to conceal Kelki’s secret flight with her lover, a moment that hints at the enduring tensions within the sisterhood’s ranks. Written by Christy Marx and illustrated by Mike Vosburg, with colors by Vosburg and Marx, and lettering by Orzechowski and Buhalis, the issue’s cover by Vosburg captures the raw intensity of this pivotal beginning.
