The Spectacular Spider-Man #109
In "He Who Is Without Sin [Death of Jean DeWolff Part 3]," Peter David and Rich Buckler deliver a tense, character-driven chapter of the Sin-Eater saga, as Spider-Man and Daredevil race through the city to stop a killer who’s targeting the Daily Bugle. With the real Sin-Eater still at large and a copycat in custody, the trail leads to a shocking revelation—someone close to Jameson is in danger. The cover by Rich Buckler and Brett Breeding captures the moment’s dread, while the story’s emotional weight is grounded in the stakes facing those closest to the headlines.

Spider-Man and Daredevil scour the city looking for the Sin-Eater. The villain shows up at the Bugle looking to kill Jameson and Peter takes him out easily. The captured Sin-Eater turns out to be a copy-cat criminal and, when Spider-Man and Daredevil investigate his apartment, discover that he lives next door to Sgt. Carter, the real Sin-Eater. Realizing that Jameson is a legitimate target, Spider-Man calls his house and Betty answers in a panic as Sin-Eater has a gun in her face.
