“From Rugs to Riches”

In "From Rugs to Riches," the Three Stooges find themselves in a whirlwind adventure after trading a prized oriental carpet for a tattered old rug they’re told is a genuine antique Persian. Fired from their job and eating their last meal on the rug, Curly-Joe accidentally reads words on it that send them soaring to a desert palace where a princess is imprisoned in a giant jar. With Larry trapped in her place, the boys must think fast to rescue her—no easy task when the rug’s magic is just beginning to reveal its secrets. Written by Jerry Belson and Cecil Beard, and illustrated by Joe Messerli with inks by the same, this 1965 Western Comics gem delivers classic slapstick with a fantastical twist.

While working in a rug shop the boys trade a prize oriental carpet for an old tattered rug that they are told is a genuine antique persian rug. After being fired for the trade the boys sit on the carpet and eat the last of their food. Curly-Joe reads some words on the carpet and it flies them to a palace in the desert where a princess is being held captive. Larry takes her place while the other stooges try to figure out a way to rescue him and the princess, who is hid in a giant jar.
